Ahmed M.Y. Osman is currently a PhD candidate in the department of Health and Pharmacy Administration at the school of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science, Tianjin University.

He got his Master's in Clinical Pharmacy from King Saud University focusing on Pharmacoeconomics, then went to work for couple of years as a clinical pharmacy lecturer at king Abdul-Aziz University before he was granted a scholarship to continue his PhD at Tianjin University from the Chinese Scholarship council. He then took a year to study the Chinese language, which he found very interesting and helpful in easing the obstacles of living in the People's Republic of China.

His current project is concerned with eliciting the preference measurement values for the Chinese general population with regard to one of the Quality of Life general measurment instruments (SF-6D). He chooses to discover these preference values using two methods, MaxDiff and Conjoint analysis, and then compare the results from these two methods to reach the best algorithm eliciting these values.

The results of his work are expected to lay the foundations for the Chinese values of the SF-6D instrument and might be adopted nationwide for Health Technology Assessments and Economics research and application.
