Matthew Spinelli

Matthew Spinelli is an infectious diseases fellow physician at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and residency at UCSF. He is currently enrolled in a masters in clinical research at UCSF with a specialization in implementation science.

His research focuses on using techniques from epidemiology, clinical research, and implementation science to better understand ideal strategies for implementing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) more broadly. In particular, his focus on health care service redesign to support PrEP retention in care and adherence.
