Aileen Sloan

Aileen is a general dental practitioner working in Scotland, providing dentistry and non-surgical aesthetic treatments across multiple practices. She is part of the first cohort to progress through a new Msc course at Northumbria University tailored to Non-surgical Aesthetic Practice.

Aileen is undertaking a study aiming to investigate what is important to patients when choosing non-surgical aesthetic treatments and if dental anxiety is a contributory factor for choice. She will use a survey incorporating conjoint analysis to establish patient preferences regarding options, including practitioner and facility, which will inform future service provision in a time of changing regulations.

Aileen gained a BDS at The University of Glasgow, UK and subsequently a MFGDP from The Faculty of General Dental Surgeons. In addition to her dental work, she has been providing non-surgical aesthetic treatments for 10 years and is passionate about patient-centred, safe and transparent treatment provision.
