Alina Beatrice Lefebre

Alina is a master's student (M.Sc.) in Business Administration at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany.

In her master's thesis she is performing a research project to study consumers' choices when shopping for baby diapers. She is especially interested in customers' willingness-to-pay for diapers produced from biodegradable materials (so called ecological diapers) and the value consumers derive from them.

It is estimated that diapers account for 10 percent of household waste, which is problematic since most disposable diapers are produced from nondegradable materials. Many consumers and firms are becoming more aware of waste problems and are trying to act with more sustainable consumption and production. This can also be observed in the baby market. Therefore, Alina is doing a CBC analysis where consumers are given a selection of diapers with different attribute levels to choose from. The target audiences are (young or soon-to-be) parents, grandparents, or anoyone who buys diapers regularly.
