Anum Pasha Syed is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at The George Washington University, where she studies comparative politics and political theory. Her main research interests include understanding the political and cultural consequences of grassroots mobilization, and the effects of assimilation and integration processes on ethnic and identity politics. Currently, she is using Sawtooth Software to design an online, forced-choice conjoint experiment to understand how migration influences ethnic and national identity.
Anum holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. Prior to coming to the United States, she worked on multiple humanitarian relief projects at ACTED, Pakistan. Anum's doctoral dissertation will examine migrant identities in the United States and United Kingdom. Her work has been published in International Studies Review and PS: Political Science and Politics.
