continuous price vs conditional price - simulation validity

Has anybody compared continuous price and conditional price strategies in  terms of accuracy of a simulation results? I consider both approaches for a study where price is dependent on 3 product characteristics (brand, size, promo). There won't be any other attributes. I'm interested if there are any real life or synthetic data results in favour of one of those methods.
