Adding headers within a single select question

Hello,

I'd like to make a single select question look like the following:

Header A (not a selectable answer)
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
Header B (not a selectable answer)
Option 4
Option 5
Option 6

What kind of script would we need to set up to do this?

Thanks.

Hi. There is no nice easy fix for this (I wish there was because it is a common problem). There are two approaches I can think of:

1) Create a free format question and insert the headings between the codes. Problem with this is you can't then easily randomise the codes or easily use "other specify"

2) Create two questions on the same page - one for each code list. This way you can randomise questions on the page and codes within each question. You'll need to add the headings as question text at each question. Problem is you will need to use javascript to create a validation to ensure they answer at least one question but not both.

It would be great if there was a way to make a code in a list a "Heading".

Cheers

Check out my recent reply on the Sawtooth forum that answers this question. Ignore the verification part. Concentrate on the sub-group / headers. This is a nice solution.
