This dialog lets you add/edit members within a predefined list. A predefined list is a list of response options that do not change across respondents. For example, if your list dealt with colors, the list members (response options) might be:
Red
Blue
Green (etc.)
Time-Saving Hint: You can cut-and-paste lists of response options from Microsoft Word or Excel by highlighting the array of items in Word or Excel, pasting to the clipboard using Ctrl+C or the Copy button in Word or Excel, and then (within Lighthouse Studio) by clicking the Paste list member(s) from the clipboard icon.
Add
Lets you add an member to the list.
Edit
Edits the highlighted list member.
Delete
Deletes the highlighted list member.
Settings for Selected List Member(s)
Respondent Specify ("Other Specify")
Check this box to indicate that the highlighted list member is to be an "other specify" type response. An open-end field will automatically appear to the right of the response option text.
Respondent Specify Required
Check this box to indicate that if the respondent checks the "other specify" option, the respondent must also provide some text within the open-end text field.
Minimum Characters:
Specify the number of characters respondents must type to continue.
Maximum Characters:
Specify the maximum number of characters respondents may type.
Exclusive ("None of the Above")
Check this to indicate that the highlighted list member is to be an exclusive response. An exclusive response means that if a respondent checks this option, then no other options in the list should also be checked. The most common example is a "None of the Above" response option.
