Some researchers suggest that there are situations in which the respondent should not be forced to allocate exactly, say, 100 points within a constant sum question. Sometimes the researcher may be satisfied if the respondent has allocated nearly the right number of points. This dialog lets you specify the acceptable margin below and above the total required points for this constant sum question.
Note: if any individual numeric field exceeds the total amount, the acceptable margin is not enforced for the field. For example, if the constant sum is 100 with a acceptable margin of 5, it will not let the respondent allocate 101-105 for any individual field.
If the number of points to allocate is dynamically set for each respondent based upon the answer to a previous question, then you should specify the maximum width of that numeric value. This is for display purposes, so Lighthouse knows how wide to make the field when showing the "totals" amount.
