There are three licensing options at Sawtooth Software:
Corporate Annual Subscriptions for up to 10 users,
Standard Licenses per user/seat, and
Academic Annual Subscriptions. Technical support is free.
A Corporate Annual Subscription License is a cost-effective and
straightforward approach to using Sawtooth Software tools and technical support across an organization.
With an annual subscription license, up to 10 users may access the most up-to-date versions and automatically
receive software upgrades whenever new features are released.

For a yearly fee of $15,900 the Corporate Annual Subscription provides licenses for
up to 10 users within the organization to the following components:

For an extra $4,000 per year ($19,900 annual) the MBC software for Menu-Based
Choice is added to the Corporate Annual Subscription.
Note: There are no refunds for unused months or prorations for part-years.
Some organizations may prefer purchasing a Standard License for an individual user. For a one-time fee, you may puchase specific software modules at the prices shown in the table below. Upgrades to newer versions usually involve an additional upgrade fee.
A software license entitles you to use the software in one of two ways:
Option A: by a single individual on one or more computers
Option B: by multiple users on a single computer (but not simultaneously
by more than one user)
Licenses may be transferred from one user to another within the company
or licensed organization. Users may switch their method of using the software
license (options A and B) above without notifying Sawtooth Software.
Users should register their software via an online registration form that
appears when you launch the software. (A phone registration option is also
available, for those without an internet connection.) If you postpone registration,
you will be prompted to register the software each time you start the software.
Periodically, audits will be performed and a report will be sent to customers
regarding their license registration activity.
Academic Lab users are not required to register their software. Academic
("lab") licenses are described at: http://www.sawtoothsoftware.com/education/academiclicense.shtml.
Only registered users may receive technical support. When you request
technical support, Sawtooth Software will verify your serial number.
Software is sold at the list price, less any volume discounts. Software
may be returned for a full refund within 60 days of software purchase.
A volume discount is applied to any new or upgrade purchase after a specified
level of expenditure within the past 3 years.
After an expenditure of $10K, subsequent purchases receive a 10%
discount, after an expenditure of $25K the discount is 25%, and after an
expenditure of $50K the discount is 50%.
Upgrade fees will be uniform (typically about 40% of the new license fee),
regardless of the prior version you own. Older “Category” style licenses
may retain "Category" scope only for system size upgrades (not version
upgrades).
For existing users who do not wish to upgrade, we will continue to support
their old licenses (our track record has been to support older versions
in terms of bug fixes for around 3 years and to offer technical support
for often 10 years).
NOTE:
A volume discount is applied to new or upgrade purchases after
a specified level of expenditure within the past three years. After an expenditure of $10K, subsequent
purchases receive a 10% discount, after an expenditure of $25K the discount
is 25%, and after an expenditure of $50K the discount is 50%.
Subscriptions involving an annual license do not receive volume discounts.
If you are an educational institution you may qualify for an
Academic Subscription. Academic subscriptions are available for professors and students for
non-commercial classroom use and for academic research. Students are allowed to use the software and services for field studies.
The academic subscription license agreement includes the following provisions:

Technical support shall be provided to a single contact person.
Software may be installed on personal computers.
Annual subscription covers an entire school*.
