Sawtooth uses AI to help you get more value from your survey research. These tools are designed to make your work easier and your insights richer.

Managing access
AI is turned off by default for every subscription. Administrators can enable AI features for all users on their subscription:
- Open Sawtooth Account.
- Select My Subscriptions.
- Select the subscription you’d like to update.
- At the bottom of the page, find AI Features and toggle the switch on.
The change takes effect immediately.
Usage limitations
AI features are temporarily offered without any limitations or costs as we explore their usage and value to users. Future changes will likely include adding a certain amount of usage with software subscriptions, limitations, and opportunities to purchase additional usage. Sawtooth will notify users prior to these changes being implemented.
Accuracy
AI can recognize patterns in data and generate useful outputs, but it isn’t perfect. Results may sometimes be incomplete, imprecise, or miss the full context of your research. Think of AI as a helpful assistant—it can speed up your work, but it should never replace your own expertise or judgment.
AI features are most effective when paired with thoughtful review. Before you rely on AI-generated results, we recommend double-checking them against your own knowledge and research.
If you share AI outputs with others, let them know they were created with AI so they have the right context.
Data handling
We take data privacy and security seriously. Our AI systems are designed to safeguard your information and respect confidentiality throughout the model development process. Importantly, your survey data is not used to train the AI models; it’s only processed to provide the specific features you choose to use.
