ChiaHua Tsai is a graduate student at the Institute of Health Services Management at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. She also works as a senior diabetes educator, dedicated to advancing public health education in the field of diabetes. Her thesis focuses on the Taiwanese public’s acceptance of self-paid medical services.

In recent years, the increasing adoption of Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) has brought significant benefits to people with diabetes. Previous studies have shown that CGM use contributes to more stable blood glucose control and improved quality of life. However, Taiwan's unique National Health Insurance system and overall lower medical expenses compared to Western countries may influence the public’s willingness to pay for CGM devices. This context may shape public attitudes toward optional self-paid medical technologies like CGM. To investigate this issue, ChiaHua adopted the Adaptive Choice-Based Conjoint (ACBC) methodology together with Hierarchical Bayes (HB) analysis to explore variations in public acceptance of CGM in Taiwan.
