Daniel Skambraks is a Ph.D. candidate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at RWTH Aachen University (Germany). He holds an M.Sc. in International Management from University of Cologne (Germany) and University of Sydney Business School (Australia) as well as a B.A. in Banking & Finance from FOM University in Düsseldorf (Germany). He is also a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Cologne, focusing on M&A and transactions.
Daniel’s research is focused on better understanding the investment criteria that different early-stage startup investors are employing. Specifically, his studies are concerned with how investors trade off different product-related investment criteria in their decision-making process. Daniel’s motivation is to better understand how startup investors make decisions, which aims to help (i) investors to better understand their actual decision-making process and identify potential biases and (ii) startups to better understand how and which investor they should approach in order to increase their odds of securing funding, depending on their specific product characteristics.
