Jana Beermann is a PhD student and psychotherapist in training at the Clinical Psychology Department of the Ruhr-University Bochum. At the university’s Research and Treatment Center, her work focuses on advancing evidence-based diagnostic methods in clinical psychology, with a particular emphasis on identifying challenges and developing solutions.
In addition to her research, Jana is passionate about teaching diagnostics to future psychotherapists, sharing her knowledge and fostering clinical expertise. At the start of her academic career, her goal is to make diagnostic practices more efficient and less prone to error—driven by the belief that an accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective therapy. By combining her practical experience from psychotherapy training with scientific research, Jana wants to put research findings into practice. In doing so, she hopes to help both patients and therapists benefit from improved diagnostic tools and the prevention of misdiagnoses.
