Jeff Brozena

Jeff Brozena is a doctoral candidate in human-computer interaction at Penn State University's Wellbeing and Health Innovation Lab in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. Jeff researches health interventions to support the financial wellbeing of individuals living with bipolar disorder, a chronic illness characterized by an increased risk of financial instability. Collaborating with mental health clinicians, computer scientists, and individuals with lived experience, he is working to design goal-directed, privacy-preserving, collaborative tools for early intervention into risky or impulsive financial behaviors. Jeff was awarded the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship to pursue this research direction.

Following a series of mixed methods studies investigating feasibility, acceptance, and privacy preferences of financial data sharing for illness management, Jeff plans to implement a Relevant Items MaxDiff survey to understand how to prioritize intervention features in upcoming user studies.
