Jenny Kwon

Jenny Kwon is a postdoctoral scholar affiliated with the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at University of California, San Francisco. Her current research focuses on identifying the factors that most strongly influence nursing staff retention in nursing homes in the U.S. Using a MaxDiff approach, her study aims to identify how nursing staff prioritize job-related attributes such as leadership stability, salary, benefits, shift schedules, resident acuity, work culture, professional development opportunities, and so on. This study could provide a comprehensive assessment of workforce priorities and guide actionable insights to increase workforce retention and enhance staff satisfaction. 

Jenny completed her PhD in Social Gerontology at Miami University of Ohio where her dissertation examined how retention of nursing staff and individualized care practices affect nursing home consumers’ satisfaction. She earned a Master of Public Health from Indiana University - Bloomington and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Konkuk University in South Korea.
