Marco is a PhD candidate working as a research associate at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany at the Chair for Management Science and Energy Economics. He currently works on the project called “unIT-e2 – Reallabor für verNETZte E-Mobilität” and is interested in research topics on electric vehicle charging tariffs. In order to understand different tariff designs, he uses choice-based conjoint analysis to understand consumers’ preferences and willingness to pay for different attributes, such as pricing mode, curtailing and time-dependent pricing zones. The target groups are students of the University of Duisburg-Essen, almost 41,000 in total. The research results shall be used as modified input for an energy system analysis (Optimization), in order to analyse the system-oriented integration of Electric Vehicless due to new tariff designs. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
Marco is a PhD student at the Chair for Management Science and Energy Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He studied economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum. His research topics include the analysis of energy markets and the behavior of individual market players. In doing so, he essentially draws on the methods of operations research. The use of behavioral research methods is an essential part of the preliminary work. These are necessary to obtain information on the actor level. His research takes concrete shape in the choice behavior of consumers to different electric car charging tariffs. Previous work and his profile can be found at the links below.
