Mike Hagenaars

Mike Hagenaars is a master student in supply chain management at Tilburg University, Netherlands.

The main focus of his studies is on transportation management.

Within his master thesis, he is going to address the topic of last-mile delivery methods and how these methods are being valued by the customer. His research will focus on several attributes that are important in last-mile delivery such as time, convenience and mode of transport. In his research he will distribute a survey, in this survey the respondents need to indicate which alternative is most appealing to them. By analyzing the survey, he will be able to conclude how much monetary value his respondents attach to which attribute.

Webshops are currently trying to become faster and offer their customers more convenience when it comes to e-fulfilment. This research will address the willingness-to-pay of the customers, however, it also focusses on whether it would be worthwhile for webshops to implement faster or more convenient options.
