Tobias is affiliated with the University of Technical Applied Science in Berlin and is currently pursuing his M.A. in Industrial Engineering with a major in Project Management. Tobias has already successfully obtain his Bachelor of Engineering from the same institute whilst being a professional athlete for the competitive Berlin Swim Team. He represented Germany at the Junior European Championship in Antwerp where he placed third. After his retirement, Tobias decided to share his experience with the younger generation of ambitious swimmer: he became a part-time coach. He is now combining his experience in sport with his academic background in engineering and project management by researching a solution that would bring swimming into the age of digitialization. In his research, Tobias wants to find out more about the features of an innovative swim tracker. This will enable coaches to focus on the most important aspects throughout training efforts, such as technique und health that will help athletes to reach their full potential.

His motivation here is primarily to make a complete training evaluation possible and at the same time to reduce the effort for the trainers so that they can react more quickly to certain training circumstances. For this study, Tobias is working closely with the Berlin swimming team. Together with the athletes and coaches, he wants to find out what features a swim tracker needs to have in order to digitally map the entire training session in the best possible way. After aligning and discussing this idea with other coaches, he is now eager to collect precise data which will help him to implement the idea of a swim tracker.
